How we met

Well everyone always ask me how we met, so here it goes. Mike is from High Point, NC he lived there most of his childhood and teenage years and then his Mom decided they were going to move to Texas to be closer to her family. So they moved to Corpus Christi, TX. When Mike was 27 he decided he was going to join the United States Army, so he joined the Army in February 2000. So he was then shipped off to Basic Training in Fort Jackson, SC. Then he was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX, where later that year little did he know is where he would meet the love of his life. So he decided he would get on the computer in his free time and decided to go to Yahoo chat so he could talk to people. That is where he met his lovely wife, Amy. One day I was chatting in a Yahoo Chat Room and I just decided to say hey to this girl she said she was from Utah. So I started talking to her and little did I know I would fall in love with this chick from Utah,. So I started talking to Amy in Sept. 2000, and we continually talked from Sept.-Nov. that is when i decided I wanted to spend Christmas with her. So I told her I was going to my mother's house in Oklahoma for Christmas and I really wanted her to come so my Mom and I could meet her and spend time with her. Because I was going to Kuwait in January for 6 months, so she said she would think about it. But little did i know i really didn't have to twist her arm too much. She just had to talk her mom into letting her fly half way cross the country to meet this guy she had met on the internet. So I talked to Amy's mom and she felt ok about it and I told her I would take very good care of her. So on Christmas Eve Amy flew from Cedar City, Utah to Oklahoma City, Ok. And that is where she met the love of her life, Michael Holt. When I got off of the airplane I was so nervous. But all I could think about is when I got off the plane I was like oh my goodness what if he don't like me? I was so nervous, but little did i know how nervous he was because the plane was running a little behind because of the snow. So when we met it was like they said "LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT". It was wonderful. So we got Amy's bag and we headed to Mike's Mom's house. The next day was Christmas so we woke up and we started opening presents it was so wonderful to spend time together finally after talking on the phone everyday. So then we spent time all day Christmas Day and then that night I was on the phone talking to my Mom and he got down on one knee and then he played "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes. So then we spent the next 10 days with each other. Then Mike left before I did so Jeanne and I took him to the airport and he left we were so sad to have to leave each other. Then Jeanne took me to the airport so i could go home. So Amy went home to Cedar City and Mike went back to Ft. Bliss. So when I got home I was so happy and my mom knew it. So about 3 or 4 days later I told my mom, I'm like mom I really want you to meet Mike before he has to leave for Kuwait, and so finally i talked her into driving to Ft. Bliss so I could see Mike one more time and My mom could meet the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. So we went to TX for about 4 days and my mom just fell in love with Mike. But then we had to go back home and it went by way too fast. So then Mike was going to Kuwait the end of January and would not be home until June 2001. So we decided that when he returned home from Kuwait we were going to get married. So we started making plans to get married. So mike got back from Kuwait on June 7, 2001 and I drove down to Ft. Bliss so I could pick him up and we could drive back to Utah and get married and get my stuff so we could move to Ft. Bliss. So we got married on June 19, 2001. It was the most special day of our whole life. Then we went on our short honeymoon to Park City, Utah. SO we could get back to Tx. Then that is where we started our new life.
